POWER TOOLS!

so today i got to play with the pressure washer ALL DAY!! It was fantastic! The arms and shoulders hurt a little bit, but it was so much fun!! Eating lunch my hands were totally numb and still tingling/vibrating :p It was histerical!

We are slowly gutting out the stalls in the barn and getting them all cleaned out (aka why we need the power washer :p back and forth back and forth on the floor...then up and down on the walls...) so we can paint everything..You wouldn't believe how skank the stalls get, the only way to get all the dirt off is with the power washer, there is no other way! It just sticks to everything! I smell disgusting and I'm covered in grime. It's fantastic! I think I want to learn how to use MORE power tools when i get home. My next goal is a drill. If i can use a drill I will be satisfied. Dad, you mission should you chose to accept it...help give your daughter the handy-man skills to survive on her own! aka, plumbing...electric...how to use tools (aka a wrench?) OH and I REALLY want to learn to change a tire... and check my oil...

Anyways, we had a WICKED thunder and lightening storm last night! It went on all evening and over night. But the ground was so partched that everything was almost dry by this morning where it should have been flooded!

I spent all last night calling clinics and applying for externships. My own fault that many of the places are full...This summer went by so quickly that I'm applying too late. grrr...Ill find something I hope :( Some potential at a clinic in Kingston?? Maybe?? I'm going to keep trying all this week. So far I'm trying to stay in Southern Ontario, but I really want an equine/small animal clinic so I might have to look farther north or out of province. Sigh...i'm angry at myself, but trying not to stress. It will work out.

barrett you are my concert liason, keep LOOKING!

Sooo it's my weekend off, and it's fabulous because we actually got the ENTIRE weekend off, including Saturday morning! As always, I suck at sleeping in and both mornings still woke up at 6:30am panicing that I was late for work! Then basically I just lay in bed until I felt like rolling out.

Yesterday I had just gotten up and was beginning to make breakfast when Leanne and Dan showed up to take me to Cheltenham to check out some stores. I discovered this wicked skater/surfer brand that I love called ANIMAL (obviously) because I had seen Catherine wearing a sweater and I wanted to take a look. A bought a really nice grey hoodie from there and when I get back to London I might pick up something else because its really good quality stuff.
I also went back to Primark and got a few more 1.50 pound tshirts, because they are the style and fit I really like (a bit longer) than I've been paying up to $20 for back home! And yes mom I got different colours :p

Then we headed back here since Leanne and Dan had to go to work. I watched a couple movies and talked to some people online and went to bed at like midnight.
Today will probably be a repeat, except that I'm doing laundry :p It was supposed to rain all weekend and instead its been REALLY hot and sunny...I might move outside to work on my tan!

eww, but I just checked and it's supposed to thunderstorm tomorrow and rain all week...greatttt

I can't believe only a couple more weeks left! This summer is just flying by, and Im sure that the next few weeks are going to go the fastest!

I guess I should really start doing some studying and try to find myself an externship placement for next summer :p

Anyways, watching Robin Hood (the one with Kevin Costner from the early 90's) So that's about it for now I guess!

p.s. Barrett keep looking for more concerts for me! (especially not ones that are sold out!)

i think i need to start hiding my money under my mattress...

so i called CIBC today. after 30 minutes and 9 call attempts i finally got in touch with someone named Sarah in collections (which obviously not only doesn't have a collect number, they don't even have a DIRECT line..URG)

Anyways, there is nothing they can do about my line of credit, but thankfully it doesnt affect my credit history so that's all that matters :p i was stern without yelling, maybe a TOUCH rude..not on purpose but i was definately not very happy after all the effort and $$ it took me to get a hold of someone, and really they don't even seem to know whats going on..

Steph brought me some Harry Potter movies and so i'm having a marathon :p However, she doesn't have the first one so I'm really watching them out of order :p

One of my sick babies went home last night! (YAH!!) but then another one came in today...urg and we have a lame one. Not cool! Our barn was slowly getting empty!! BUT There are still so few horses in that I don't have to work on Saturday morning so I get a REAL weekend! I think me and Steph MIGHT try and go out. Or at least go to Cheltenham to do some shopping :p Lucas is back in 3 weeks and she is getting really excited :p So am I just to see him again!! I miss our talks :)

Lots of painting of the barns left to do but we are working our way through it a little bit at a time.

I guess thats about it for now :p

Work was good today, vet day..slowly dying down. Took photos of my favourite baby by Firecracker Lady last night because she went home today. Farrier day tomorrow, they are histerical so it should be good.

I'm feeling fat today so i've eaten about a pound of chocolate. love how that works...:p

So my favourite baby out of Firecracker Lady is leaving tomorr w :( This is the one that fishhooked himself on his water bucket (still no idea how!) and I found him...brain thoughts: #1) don't let him move, #2. don't let him move, #3. get help NOW

sleep over!

so, yesterday i got so angry over the bank stuff that i forgot the REAL reason for my post...I DID LAUNDRY! they finally connected my washer (after 2 weeks!) and guess what!!!!! I HAVE A CLOTHES LINE! I meant to take pictures and then i got angry and forgot, i got to dry my clothes on a clothesline in my backyard. I was hanging laundry with one of the stallions staring over my shoulder (his paddock IS my backyard!) It was glorious!

So today I forgot that our lead hand is off for the week (I was so confused when i showed up to work and no one was there :p) and so it means I have to remember all the meds for some of the sick foals i've been taking care of, urg, i was getting so angry because they are such a pain to crush up and mix so that the babies will take them ok. one of them used to be such an ass when he was on injectable meds, but now he is on oral tablets that i make up into a liquid and syringe into his mouth. now he loves me and we are best friends! (for some reason he thinks they taste good! - works for me!) He is such a cutie, but still a twat who tries to kick me for no reason, but now when i open up the stall door he comes right up to me going hey, hey you got any of that good stuff for me :p and if i don't then he aims a kick :p he's slowly losing his baby coat and although he is a little scruffy looking hes looking a little better now :p i swear he's not sick dammit, he's too fiesty.

We also painted the covering shed, always a great source of entertainment, seeing how clean we can stay...so far i'm failing, but not as bad as little Emily (I just stop paying attention and lean in the paint)

Now Steph and Emily are over and we are watching Step up 2 and p.s. i love you (again!) and sleeping over until work again tomorrow.

and p.s. when i say my life is boring, i don't mean i'm bored, i just mean i don't have the same adventures to talk about like barrett does :p

laundry!

so yesterday was interesting since we all had to work in the morning and we crawled our butts in from the bar pretty late, but everyone showed up and we got everything done in record time :p only so we could go back home and crawl back into bed until we had to head back into work at 2:30 (or half-two!). When work was over we headed over to Steph's yard (barn) in order to look after Chino and she had lessons to teach (the kids are so cute!). I took some photos which are up on facebook...AND I got to do my first IM (intra-muscular) injection! Dan showed me how to do it on Chino so I gave him his tetnus vaccine! (it was so exciting and scary, im not going to lie!) then we gave him some meds and took a look at his little wound, which isn't looking as bad as I expected which makes me happy! Steph taught the girls for a bit and then I had a go on her mare Bonnie, who is WAY too short for me so I don't have proper balance on her, but I got her over some jumps :p (She is also really stubborn!) I'll steal some pictures off Leanne asap!

I did have plans to make stir fry last night, but we got back from the barn late, so that plan failed and so i'm going to try for tonight.

Today worked this morning, nice and fast, same with this afternoon. I watched Adam Sandler's The Longest Yard (football movie) acutally pretty funny! I was suprised. Then I watched Disney's Spirit (yah that's right, the cartoon movie about the horse :p) Which was cute...but a total kids movie :p

And I just found out that CIBC f*cked (sorry about the language, but im ANGRY) me over on my line of credit saying i haven't paid interest when I called them from Europe to make sure to get everything paid on time. Stupid idiots. GAHHHHHHHH.

vet-to-be in ACTION!

So yesterday I told Barrett about how my life is just work and movies...well

today I actually got to apply my vet-in-training skills!!

It was awesome!! After work Steph, Leanne and I went to Primark (basically like a cheaper version of walmart...tshirts are like 1 pound! its insane!) anyways, we are going out tomorrow night for Vicki and Catherine's bdays (that way since we all have alternating weekends off, we all have to work Saturday morning and we can all be hung over together :p) so I needed a shirt since all I have is my strapless shirt...and i definitely brought home my strapless bra and left it there...and the only other half decent shirt i have is dirty because my washer still hasn't been connected (neither has my cooker...hopefully tomorrow??) So i went and bought like 5 shirts, a shrug sweater and earrings.....for 19 pounds...yah that's right. how good am i!

SOOO afterwards we went to Steph's yard (barn) to see her ponies and feed them and stuff, and on Tuesday we had noticed that her colt Chino (2 year old intact male little SHITE of a pony that is as high as my waist...maybe...) had a bite on his ass, well today we got there and I got the joy of cleaning it because steph hates pus..and so we pulled off the scab and it was like a puncture wound looking. so since he wouldn't stand still we called Dan to come hold him...I have to get the pictures off Leanne because I just couldn't stop laughing. Dan is a rugby player...and a big guy, and he was almost on his knees trying to hold Chino because he is so little..it was HYSTERICAL!

But he held him so I was able to clean it all out, and figure out it WAS a bite mark and inspect how deep it was an stuff (because it was on his back, it's a non-draining wound so we have to be really careful about watching and basically preventing it from scabbing over so that it doesn't trap the pus...anyways...the technical stuff aside...I got to do my favourite thing...SQUEEZE OUT PUS!) it was fabulous.

So anyways, I cleaned it and gave her advice on how to clean, treat, what to look for, etc...basically i'm being dragged (willingly of course...because i also get to ride her pony in exchange!) back to the yard daily! Dan and I also had the fun job of molesting the poor bugger on top of all this because Steph wants to castrate him but she didn't think both nuts had dropped, so we had to check. and she's right, only 1 = he is a cryptorchid, meaning that the other testicle is still up in his abdomen so she has to send him in to the surgery to actually go under so they can cut him open and find it!!! (aka WAY more expensive then dropping him in the field and doing a simple 2 nut castration...) so she was a little upset :(

BUT I GOT TO PLAY VET! :D it was great.

So then we came home exhausted at this point and put on Honey and Steph (as usual :p) passed right out and so after the movie finished we dragged our asses up to bed :p where i am now seated.

OHHH and we heard from Lucas today! His flight is booked to come back August 14th (ONE WAY TICKET!!!) :p I told Steph he would be back, she knew it too, just doubted herself. They are so cute. I've already told her I'm a bridesmaid...

ok, BED, work tomorrow then we are going out so I'm going to be exhausted!

so i started a blog of my boring life

so barrett told me to start a blog so that i remember what i do...i have a journal that i usually keep decently up to date...sometimes...
i told him that my blog would be boring.

get up at 6:30. eat, make lunch, wake up steph. go to work. work. walk home from work. check email and facebook desperately hoping that someone has messaged me....then realizing that its only 11am back home and normal people are still at school/work/sleeping. shower (I HAVE A REAL SHOWER NOW!! - p.s. i moved so I no longer live in Robin's Mill, I live in a house beside the stud farm...cuts 10 minutes off my walk, therefore adding 10 minutes to my sleep time :p). recheck email/facebook desperately. go make toast with nutella (i've discovered a new love of nutella thanks to Europe+Vlad+Katrina travel adventures...it was EVERYWHERE). put in whatever dvd steph and I didn't finish the night before. finish it. make dinner (normally stir fry or tortillini, but since I moved my "cooker" - the stove, hasn't been connected yet, thus...salad? or maybe more toast...depends how i feel). watch another movie until steph arrives. put on a new movie. steph falls asleep. turn off movie. wake up steph and convince her that its time for bed. she actually goes to bed. then i recheck facebook/email and msn one more time because MAYBE someone will be home by now...since it's usually around 11pm here and 5pm at home :p. then sleep. wake up at 4-5am when the sun blares through the window (still no curtains...) rool over until alarm goeso off at 6:30, then 6:45....wake up to clouds. repeat.

basically in the last 4 days i have watched:

seabiscuit X 2 times
dreamer X 2 times
p.s. i love you X infinity times (i'm addicted and im moving to ireland and i want to a boy to do that for me...)

and thats it for now because steph took all her dvd's home when i moved...and these are the only ones left in the house!

ok thats all for now....off to pick out a "new" movie for tonight :p
